The hydraulic manifold is chosen because its high integration can save space and reduce the number of accessories such as hoses and joints.

The number of hoses, fittings and other accessories is reduced, so the leakage points are greatly reduced. Even for post-maintenance, it’s easier to deal with an integrated valve block than to deal with a bunch of intricate piping.

The cartridge valve is usually a poppet valve, of course, it can also be a spool valve. Cone-type cartridge valves are often two-way valves, while spool-type cartridge valves can be available in two-way, three-way, or four-way designs. There are two installation methods for the cartridge valve, one is the slide-in type and the other is the screw type. The name slide-in cartridge valve is not familiar to everyone, but its other name is very loud, that is, “two-way cartridge valve”. The more resounding name of the screw-type cartridge valve is “threaded cartridge valve”.

Two-way cartridge valves are very different from threaded cartridge valves in design and application.

Advantages

1. Two-way cartridge valves are usually used in high-pressure, large-flow systems, mainly for economic reasons, because large reversing spool valves are expensive and not easy to buy.
2. Cartridge valves are mostly cone valves, which have much less leakage than slide valves. Port A has almost zero leakage, and port B has very little leakage.
The response of the cartridge valve when it is opened is faster, because it does not have a dead zone like a normal spool valve, so the flow is almost instantaneous. The valve opens quickly, and naturally the valve closes quickly.
3. Since no dynamic seal is required, there is almost no flow resistance, and they are more durable than spool valves.
4. The application of the cartridge valve in the logic circuit is more convenient. A simple combination of normally open and normally closed valves can obtain many control circuits with different functions.

Application

Two-way cartridge valves can be used in mobile hydraulics and factory hydraulics, and can be used as check valves, relief valves, throttle valves, pressure reducing valves, reversing valves, and more.
